Content Credentials

Every track that leaves a WARLUSH room carries a credential. It is a record, written into the file itself, of who made the work and what happened to it along the way. It travels with the file wherever the file goes.

What it says

Who made it. The producer, the vocalist, the engineer, and if a machine made any part of it, the machine, listed the same way a person is. What happened to it, in order: the beat arrived, the take was recorded, the mix came back, the listening copy was made. And when.

How it holds

Four things make it more than a note.

The record lives inside the file, not on a website that can go away. Open the file anywhere and it is there.

The file is sealed. The record includes a fingerprint of the sound itself. Change the audio and the fingerprint no longer matches, and any checker will say so.

The record is signed with a key only the studio holds. Nobody can write a credential in WARLUSH’s name, and nobody can edit one after it is written. WARLUSH is the pen. The work and the names in the record are yours.

The record is dated, and the date cannot be changed. It is confirmed by an outside service at the moment of signing.

Every version remembers the one before it, so the whole chain of edits is on the record.

What it does not do

It does not confirm identity. Not who is on the mic, not who uploaded the beat. That is by design. We are not in the business of proving who people are, and we do not collect the ID scans or biometrics other platforms ask for. The credential records what happened to the work and who it is credited to. The trade is that the credit is a statement, not a background check. We think that is the right trade.

It does not stop anyone copying a file. If someone strips the credential out, the file simply has none, the way every file used to. What no one can do is change the work and keep the seal.

Checking one

Every public track has a receipt that reads its credential in plain words. They are listed here. A track in a private room carries the same credential; the people in that room can read it, and anyone else can ask.

The standard is called C2PA. It was built by Adobe, the BBC, Sony, Microsoft and others, and it is the same one their cameras and editing tools use. The specification is at c2pa.org.
